SCREENWRITING PROGRAMS:

Kathryn Burnett

Kathryn is without question an industry insider. an award-winning screenwriter who has worked across short film, features and TV.  She is currently a nominee for a Best Drama Script Award at the 2021 NZ Television Awards and won Best Screenplay at Show Me Shorts Film Festival in 2020.  

Her most recently produced credits include The Tender Trap (tele-feature), Under The Vines, My Life is Murder,Black HandsFresh EggsThe Cul de Sac. She currently has two feature films in development and is looking forward to her latest play premiere in May 2022.

Keren Green

Keren is an award-winning, WGA writer/director/producer recently relocated from Los Angeles to Auckland. While she continues to write full-time for US-based production companies, Keren has recently taken a dive into local NZ production with her two latest award-winning shorts (which she wrote & directed in 2021). Keren earned her MFA in Writing for Entertainment and has over twenty years experience teaching and working in the Hollywood film industry.

Green Writer’s Room

Offers a variety of classes for beginners to advanced writers. Classes include an intro to screenwriting, a mastery skills workshop, taking your script into production, writing your feature film, develop your series, building pitch decks & preparing to pitch, write the TV pilot, creating a graphic novel, and more.

ACTING PROGRAMS:

Juliet Furness

Juliet left NZ in 1992 to take up a position of Assistance Coach to Jeremiah Comey at his Film Acting School in LA.

Upon completion of this work she moved to New York where she would spend the next 17 years. This resulted in her studying a number of different techniques and methods as she continued to work as an actress herself. Meeting Anne Hathaway’s private acting coach, Seth Barrish in 1995, was pivotal.

She is committed to spontaneity, depth of emotional truth and transformation in performance.

The classes are about deepening the acting experience – working with greater ease, smarter, not harder. Creating truthful human behavior and spontaneity. Developing actors instinct from their ability to play.

INTRO CLASS

Wide range of exercises from physical to vocal choices, group work, games, text work, scene and monologue, an emphasis on play, character, expressivity, and joy.

LEVEL 1

Memorized work. Scenes and monologues. Tools to boost emotional connection, truthfulness, ways to tell a stronger story with character relationships.

LEVEL 2

Professional actors. Scene and monologue. Impulse work. Increasing character complexity, emotional connection, heightening emotional stakes. Audition prep. Working out.

Kacie Stetson

Kacie trained at RADA in London and Boston University School of the Arts where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She holds a Master’s degree in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

Kacie has worked extensively in both the Hollywood and Auckland markets. She has over thirty years experience in film, television and theatre, with comprehensive credits in directing, acting and writing. 

Kacie is gifted in facilitating actors to reach both their highest professional goals and deepest emotional truths. Actors that Kacie has trained have gone on to work extensively in film and television. Their credits include: Empire, Orange is the New Black, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Castle, Glee, General Hospital, True Blood, ER, 90210, House, The Tomorrow People, Dark Blue, Criminal Minds, How To Get Away With Murder, all CSI’s and NCIS’s, as well as feature films such as The Hunger Games and Wetlands.

She has trained many New Zealand actors, who have appeared on such shows as StepDave, Hilary, Go Girls, Spartacus, Shortland Street as well as several feature films.

In addition to coaching, Kacie is an award-winning writer, screenwriter and director. In 2019, she was staffed on the Warner Brothers NZ series BETHANY. Currently, she is staffed on the WB NZ series SNOWMAN. Kacie’s screenplay THE HIDDEN was a finalist in the 2017 Page International Screenwriting Awards, beating out thousands of scripts from all over the world. 

Stetson’s first film, UPSIDE DOWN, which she wrote, directed, and produced, won Best Narrative Film at the 2018 Top Shorts and LA Film Awards. Kacie’s prose has been published in Next and Express magazines. Her novel NGANGA won honourable mention at the Saints and Sinners contest in the Tennessee Williams Literary Festival. Her second film THE READING is currently making the festival circuit.
