Writers are Responsible for Casting
Casting Assistance Available Upon Request Only
We STRONGLY recommend attending a table reading prior to yours, if you have not yet, so that you are completely clear on the process.

ACTORS
All roles MUST be cast from our ACTOR MEMBERS.
Non-Member actors are welcome to read ONCE as a trial/intro to the group – but MAY NOT be cast again without membership.
Actors may check the EVENTS PAGE for list of upcoming projects. Projects are listed on each date shortly after booked.
- Writers profiles are linked to each title directly on the Events Page.
- Actors may use contact info listed in profile to let writers know they are available and interested.
- Actors may be asked to narrate, read a main role, or read for multiple smaller roles.
- Actors MUST CONFIRM before considered officially cast.
- Reaching out to the writers, will definitely help the writers through the process – and it’s a great way to get cast if there is a role that’s right for you. If you are available on the date listed and want to read… please, reach out.
WRITERS
Admin assistance available for casting upon request.
We are here to help if you need it, but we do not do the casting for you. For assistance with casting, please reach out to Rupert at: rupert@wildgreensprods.com
1. You are responsible for casting – all roles MUST be cast from MEMBERS of Auckland Table Reads and can be found on the website under ACTORS. We do offer the opportunity for non-member actors to participate in ONE reading as a trial/intro to the group. After the one-time trial, membership will be required to read for ATR again.
2. If you need assistance with casting, please reach out to Rupert at rupert@wildgreensprods.com
3. The final, full cast list should be sent to me along with your questions for the survey monkey no later than three days BEFORE your scheduled reading. (MONDAY before the read is the deadline to give us time to do the prep on our end).
4. Survey questions should be no more than 15 questions, a combination of multiple choice and write in comments. These are also due along with the cast list the MONDAY before your reading.
5. Remember this is a platform for feedback to elevate our work as writers. As feedback comes in, take notes, say thank you and be gracious. Please do not debate feedback – take what works for you and ignore what doesn’t – but always remember anyone offering feedback is sincerely trying to help.
6. This is not a Q&A or panel discussion – if a question is asked – keep the response brief and focus on moving to more feedback.
7. You will be asked to introduce the piece in the beginning. Keep it brief and go ahead and state what kind of feedback you’re looking for. Please do not give us details about the story – let the script speak for itself.
8. Cast must have final draft of script at least THREE DAYS PRIOR to the reading.
9. There are no rehearsals with the actors beforehand but if you have notes on character, go ahead and email those with the script to the cast.
10. EVERY speaking role must be cast – even minor one-line roles. Main characters should be the only role an actor reads however multiple minor roles may be read by the same actor – as long as they aren’t in the same scene – ie., we don’t want an actors talking to themselves in any moment as it will be confusing.
11. Please cast a narrator and make sure that that reader is able to bring life and energy to the read as well. The narration can make or break the read, so you want a strong reader to narrate. Ask if you need recommendations.
12. Your role is to listen. Please do not read for any character or narrate your own piece. (This isn’t a rule written in stone, but highly recommended)
We are here to help – so PLEASE reach out with questions etc.
WE DO NOT READ THE SCRIPT BEFORE THE READING – no need to send to us.
