Our first in-person Table Reading was kicked off with the TV Pilot, REHAB – written by Elizabeth Cracroft, Edith Fumarola, Mark Scott, Chris Molloy and Matt Colville.
Based on their popular theater piece, REHAB has now been reimagined for TV.
Following three main characters as they check into rehab, we find a delightful, rich world full of wonderfully entertaining characters. While the script will be going through another pass to make it even stronger for a television audience – the writers are off to an incredible start and we look forward to seeing these characters come to life in our living rooms, hopefully in the not to distance future.
Performances across the board were solid and so much fun to watch, however, we do want to highlight some of the standouts of the night…
Rupert Green brought the tear-jerking moment with his intense monologue of a letter written to his characters deceased mother.
Richard Lambert’s comedy skills gained huge laughs from the audience and it was thoroughly entertaining to watch him play.
Nye Green delivered an impressive COLD READING – as he was handed the script at the last minute due to Ralph Corke being unable to added after being a Covid close contact.
A delightful and impressive performance also came from Johnson Manukau who delivered multiple smaller roles – each with their own little personality twist.
And finally, Mark Scott, delivered a solid and truly entertaining performance as the head of the facility, Reg.
