On November 18th we had our second table reading with two projects read.
Close Embrace in the Time of Lockdown (a short film script by Lou Yang) and Mama Moo (a feature length screenplay written by Nimish Tanna)
Some amazing performances were delivered by all the talent involved with a special thanks to Dylan Pearce for jumping in – ICE COLD – to read for the role of Todd in Mama Moo. Amazing job, Dylan!
Jo Clark and Renuka Patel were exceptionally entertaining with their delightful performances of Mama Moo and Sheetal.
There were multiple stand out performances in the feature film reading – far too many to name them all. Kahu Kaiha, Tatum Warren-Ngata, and the many voices of Nicholas Contreras can’t go without special mention, however.
With Close Embrace in the Time of Lockdown, we were delivered a beautifully imagined story through dance and love. Josh Jurlina, Charisse Uy, Tatum Warren-Ngata, Ralph Corke, and Christine Becker gave life to the characters with their solid performances.
Both Narrators did a fantastic job bringing life and energy to the read. Robyn Butler was fantastic – narrating a feature length project is no easy task, but Robyn kept the narration alive and easy to follow.
The feedback (both live and through the anonymous survey monkeys) have proven invaluable to the writers as they move their projects forward. We thank you all for your participation and look forward to the conversations growing in future readings.
